Dying over this dress

I didn't watch the SAG awards or anything, but I came home, turned on the computer and saw this. I am sooo in love with Jayma and this dress!

A day with the Baby Bird

Leighton's favorite time of the day is waking up in the morning. She usually wakes up sometime between 5 and 8 in the greatest mood, and we just talk and laugh together. Then she'll eat a little and we can go back to sleep. It's pretty much my favorite time of the day.


Sometime a bit later she decides she's ready for her breakfast.


Ever since she was born, we've called her baby bird because of the adorable faces she makes when she's hungry.


My second favorite time of the day is mid-morning nap when she conks out on my chest and I get a little work done. What a little spider monkey.


She usually wakes up a bit later for a little play time with the puppies and some talking time with mom. I tell her all about the world, including where her nose and ears and eyes are and how many fingers and toes she has. It's very interesting conversation. Sometimes we sing a few songs, and after some itunes playlist fun, we have determined that Taylor Swift is her favorite.

We'll go outside for a walk with the pups and have some tummy time on her playmat until her Mi gets home. Then it's time for an afternoon snooze with Mi.


Then we head home and wait for daddy to get home for snuggle time before heading to bed.



I am loving working from home and having all this time with her. Pretty much nothing better in the whole world.

Note to self: iphone pictures are convenient, but terrible quality. Need to bust out the real camera for documenting our days a little better.

Perspective

I have a friend of a friend whose life changed in an instant. She was in a horrific accident, and her life will never be the same. But she is alive, and she and her family have that to be thankful for. So today I remember to spend today filled with gratefulness.

Spend time with your spouse and your family.
Spend time working on your marriage/relationship.
Spend time contemplating life and what's important.
Spend time mending a relationship (don't wait any longer).....
Spend time on what really matters.

Things can change in a heartbeat.

This makes me laugh because it's so true.


This is even more appropriate for when I do my saturday morning cardio dance class. I'm not a very good dancer, and I feel and look just ridiculous attempting some of the moves, but it's a great workout, so I continue making a fool of myself with my girls.

You should have seen me in there 9 months pregnant. That was a sight.

Back to Work

Someone's got to bring home the bacon I suppose, since Drew still has one more year in his residency. So I started back to work today with the help of my lovely patent assistant.

Tebow Time

Last night's AFC wild card game was pretty amazing! Timmy led his Broncos to a win with the most yards against the number 1 defense in the NFL. That's our boy! Go Timmy! Hopefully they can fare as well against Mr. Brady next weekend.
